Head First Design Patterns has been an outright bestseller for nearly a decade, and is on the bookshelves of an unbelievable number of software developers. I've worked through chapter 2 of Head First Design Patterns which walks you through the pro's, con's and Java implementation of the Observer pattern, but I did it in C#.
